Ebay buyer wants refund back?

I sold my iphone 4s on ebay a few weeks ago and today the buyers emails me saying that the phone's Wi-Fi didn't work and it was water damaged. I have never spilled any liquids on my phone or dropped it so I know they are lying, I'm willing to refund their money back but I'm worried that they will send me a defective phone. What should I do?

No dice, once they have it then its theirs. You have no idea what they did with it, so I wouldnt refund it. There are also many scams where people have a damaged phone, buy one like it, then complain and send the garbage one back to you. I would tell them it was good condition when sent so any damage done would have been done by them. No further explanation needed.

"a few weeks ago" If it is past the 45 day time limit they can no longer open a case against you. Check the dates.

Be faithful to your customer. This is the first and last low selling on eBay. You can politely say about this matter to your buyer. You can solve this by mutual understanding.

  • Sold iPhone on ebay now buyer wants me to unlock it? I recently sold my old iPhone 4s on ebay. The buyer contacted me a few days ago asking if I could go to att.com/deviceunlock and unlock it. It's free to me and he said he would gift me $20 on paypal if I do it. Is this legit or is this guy trying to pull something on me? It has a clean imei so it wouldn't be an issue, I just don't know if this is something that is going to get me into trouble
  • I sold my very old iPhone 4s on eBay the buyer changed there mind didn't want the phone and shipped it back to me. Read on? Verizon now says phone is not a Verizon phone from inside number. So what did this New Mexico buyer do to my phone?
  • EBay buyer wants me to ship outside US. Safe? I just sold my iPhone on eBay and the winning bidder asked me to ship to Sri Lanka, he said he would cover shipping cost, is this safe? My listing said US only. Should I follow thru or offer the phone to the next highest bidder
  • Do I have to give a refund to ebay buyer? I'm in a big situation. This lady bought an iPhone from me and I shipped it off in an envelope. I even added a tracking number so she can see it when it would arrive. Problem is, she said she received it, but there was nothing inside the envelope. Do I have to give her a refund or am I not at fault? On the receipt, it shows that the weight of the envelope had something in there. Is that enough evidence, or am I forced to lose out on money?
