Ex contract iPhone 4 how to get it working?

I've been given a ex contract iPhone 4 it's been wiped of my mothers stuff n I now wanna use it what sim needs buying n if anything else doing to it for it to work as a pay n go phone?

You may use any sim you like but it must be of "micro-sim" size. Most dealers will cut the sim card for you.

In needs to be unlocked from your mom's old carrier so you can use on a paygo plan of your choosing. Whether it's an old GSM signal from ATT or possibly Tmobile or an old CDMA from Verizon or Sprint will be helpful to know as well. Get a sim card from the paygo place you choose. Download iTunes and get an Apple ID if you haven't already. Connect to iTunes and follow 'set up as new iPhone' and follow carrier's activation instructions. Should take care of it. Best luck.

First off sign up for an icloud account in itunes, its just a free ID that will be your identifier, remember this email ID and password as this will be YOUR account going forward, don't forget it. If the contract has ended then your mom can get it unlocked, usually its just a website that takes a few days for them to verify your account and unlock it. Then its yours, connect it to itunes and it will walk you through the setup and you are good to go.

  • Will buying an iphone in contract and unlocking cause contract immediate fee? If i buy a iphone for example on att contract and unlock it, will att charge me what's left on the contract or will i just go by like nothing happened and free of contract? I haven't seen this but it makes quite a bit of sense for companies… Not sure if they do however.
  • Which is better iphone 5s plan, contract or no contract? I want to get an iphone 5s but i don't know if it's better to get a contract plan or a no contract plan. I would be having to pay every month with a contract and that's annoying. Yet with a contract i wouldn't have to pay that much for the phone would i? If i got the non contract i would get to pay the bill when i want but i would have to pay full price for the phone.
  • Should I get iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S? No contract or with contract? I don't know what exactly is so much better with the 5 compared to 4S? I'm thinking to get it with no contract because I'll be in Europe over the summer so I'll need another contract over there for a few months so that likely wouldnt work if I got a 2 year contract here in the US is the 5 much more expensive than the 4s? and does the price vary a lot if I buy with/without contract?
  • My old iPhone 5c won't turn on even though it was working fine a month ago and has just been in a drawer since. How can I get it working? I upgraded my iPhone a month ago and have been experiencing problems so I need to get it fixed. It will be weeks until I get it back so I decided I d use my old iPhone 5c until then. But I can't turn it on, it was working fine last time I used it a mo th ago. I tried charging for hours and hours and holding sleep and home buttons etc and it still won't come on. My charger is fine. How can I turn it on?
