Having buyers remorse. How can I trade my iPhone for another phone if I'm stuck on a contract?

I recently bought the iPhone 6 Plus and I'm really having buyers remorse after getting this phone. This is my first iPhone and I absolutely hate it. I wished I would've stuck with android tbh. Its so locked down I can't even do anything. I absolutely regret getting the iPhone. Unfortunately I'm stuck in a contract, sucks for me.

Even tho I'm stuck in a contract, I want to know if I sell my iPhone for cash on craigslist could I simply walk in and just trade it for another phone and keep the same number? How would this work? Would I need the sim card or something? I wanna trade my iPhone for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus but I'm not sure how all the trading and selling works. How should I go about doing this? T-Mobile told me I have to pay $250 before I can get the Edge for 0 down. I'm broke so I don't have the money, I'm just a college kid. I wanna know would it work if I just sold my iPhone on craigslist for $500 and go in and get the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus for 0 down?

I'd return my iPhone but it's already been 2 months. Honestly its a piece of ****, the headphone jack and speakers are already broken and I haven't even dropped it…

Since you have opened the box and used it you would have no chance of trading it in especially since you have broken parts of it

The contract is partly a "hire purchase" finance deal to cover the real cost of the phone, rather than paying the full amount up-front.

It's not really your property to sell until the contract is fully paid off.

(However, most companies will accept an unlock / unlatch request, possibly after a few months. Get that done as soon as possible, as it can be difficult to get it done out of contract & it makes the phone worth far more when you come to sell it.)

I don't have a clue how it's got faults - I've had four iphones in succession and never had a hardware problem with any.
The basic rule for "product happiness" with iphones is only ever buy the biggest memory version - you don't run short and they are worth far more when you come to re-sell them. I got almost as much for my two year old iphone 5 (64GB) as I paid for the new iphone 6 (128GB).

(And yes, I do use Android as well - I prefer that for a tablet but can't stand Android phones… )

Take it in to an Apple shop and get them to fix the faults - if you have not abused it in any way, they will be repaired under warranty.

If you want somewhat more access to the content that itunes allows, grab copies of "iBackupBot" and "SyncIOS" - syncios is particularly good, it allows direct copying of any music, videos, movies etc. To & from the phone.

Do still keep backups using itunes, though - just in case anything gets messed up, then you don't lose everything.
