How come I can't screenshot on snapchat?

I have the iphone 5C everything's updated to how it should be but when I open a snapchat and when I go to hit the buttons to screenshot it closes out of the snapchat and goes back to the inbox and takes a screenshot of the inbox instead of the snapchat. Why does this happen and how can I fix it!

Then his best friend requested to follow me on Instagram? Why did he screenshot my picture and why did his friend follow me after it?

So I have an iPhone 5 and it's a really good phone and it's not broken or cracked or anything, and I can screenshot on everything else, but when it comes to Snapchat, I can't screenshot anything.
