How have I used storage on my iPhone?
Settings > General > Usage says: 2.8 GB Available, 3.6 GB Used, 1.8 GB Music, and 450 MB Photos & Camera. That's it. I want my 3.5 GB "Used" back!
The 3.6GB "used" is a total summation of every single app, music, video, picture file you have.
It's not its own category, it's a TOTAL.
Just like the 2.8GB Available.
The "Available" + "Used" = Total storage on your iPhone (I assume you have the 8GB version, since the 8GB has roughly 7.2-7.4GB of actual usable space).
Used is a combination of everything.
You never have total memory because operating systems take up some memory.
- Why is my iPhone saying I have so much storage used? I'm trying to download iOS7 and it takes 2.9 GB of space. My phone says I'm using 5.7 GB of the space but I have no music, no photos, no videos, and my apps only take up 288 MB. I also deleted all of my messages and and recent calls. Any ideas?
- Why does my iphone say I have used so much storage? It say I have used 5.3 GB. It say I have 821mb left. I added up all the apps and and its like 3300 MB. I looked it up and its like 1000 MB in a GB. So that's like 2 GB that's being used that isn't there. What is taking up all my storage. Can someone please explain?! And can someone tell me how to free up some storage if I can
- What to do about my iphone storage saying I'm using up way more photo storage than I actually am? My storage says I have 132 photos that's using up most of my storage; almost 3 GB. I have only 52 photos and 15 videos in my phone. It seems like it may be using storage from pictures I deleted, but apparently they're still using space? ? Has this happened to anyone else. I've taken my phone to an apple store, and I didn't get any answers.
- What my iphone 4s storage says i have isn't the same as how much i actually used? When i go into my storage and usage in settings it says i have used 5.8 gb and if you look at all the apps i have and how much storage they add up to, it should only be about 3 gb.
