How long should I charge a new iphone 5?
I'm getting a new phone from apple and just wondering how much you are supposed to charge it. I heard that you have to chrage it a whole day, others say just until the battery is fully charged
I've heard you're supposed to drain the battery first then charge it for a day.

A modern lithium battery is not the same as the batteries used in those old cellphones that needed to be charged all day. Once the battery is full you can use it.
HOWEVER, iv read that for the 1st 5 - 10 charges you should not let the battery drain below 60%. Once it reaches 60% you leave it to charge back to 100%. This is to ensure you battery doesn't get drained too early in its life. This will help give you the best battery life possible. Try to never let your battery get below 15%. This might be hard sometimes but everytime a battery goes through a full charge cycle it gets weaker. Iv owned many cellphones and this is true.
When you get your new phone, charge the battery till 100% and than use as normal. Try to charge it again once it reaches about 60% for the 1st few days and than use it as you would normally.
