How many pictures do i need to delete for ios8?

So, i have the iPhone 5s and i really want to get ios8. But it says I need at least 5.8 gb of storage and i have 2.9. All my pictures take up 4.4 gb and i need to know about how many pictures do i need to delete so i can have 5.8 gb?

Ok I was at 1.9 GB and needed the same 5.8 you did. Heres how I did it…

I deleted my messages.

I deleted some apps i've had for a while and redownloaded them (they collect "cyber dust" which takes up storage

I deleted photo stream.

After this I was at about 4.9GB. So I just deleted about 150-200 pictures in my photos. Then I deleted some apps I don't use and can always redownload after I update.

Currently sitting here waiting for it to finishing downloading. Probably another 2 hours lol.

You should probably just use a computer, if you have one with itunes. Don't let your iphone sync - cancel it if it starts to - Transfer your purchases first, then sync it. Then download and install the update.
The problem with ios integers (ios whole number updates) is that they are so big, that unless you have 32 GB or more, the update is so big that if you are using most of the space on you iphone there's no space to update. Deleting pictures is pretty much guaranteed to not make enough space - but just in case check in SETTINGS - GENERAL - USAGE - MANAGE STORAGE.
I would wholly recommend using a computer to update it.

Ugh I have this same problem but I don't want to delete any pictures. You'd have to delete most of them. Especially any long videos, but deleting apps, contacts, mail, voicemails and stuff also helps. You could try uploading your photos onto a computer so you'll still have them if you delete them off your phone

I would always wait a couple weeks to update.
