How much to add a new line on sprint. And more?

Hello… I'm currently in a plan with 3 people. My husband, myself, and my son. My daughter also wants an iPhone 4s or 5c(16gb or 32gb) … My son wants to get his own account so we won't have to pay for him anymore. So I was wondering how much it would cost to get my husband, my daughter and I a family plan, with internet, calling and texting. Points to whoever gives me a good, solid answer + explanation.

Sprint can definitely do this for you! I'll start off with your son wanting to get his own account: this would be called a Change of Ownership, where you split one line from the account into a new account. Your son would have to pass Sprint's credit check and he'll need to be 18 years of age or older. They can probably do this in a corporate store for you (maybe in an authorized retailer too, but you want the actual Sprint CSRs to do this for you) but you can start it online at http://support.sprint.com/...fownership.

I do believe that to add one line, it costs $9.99 per month, in addition to the other charges. You might need to change plans with Sprint, meaning that if you are on a grandfathered plan which is a plan that is no longer available for new customers, they might not let you add a new line without changing plans. Sprint does have some competitive plans, so it's definitely not the end of the world if that happens. It looks like Sprint has a new 'Unlimited, My Way' plan which gives you unlimited talk and text for $120.00 per month for three smartphones and it looks like this is their only plan for talk and text. For data (internet), unlimited data is $30.00 per phone per month, and 1 gigabyte of data is $20.00 per phone per month. For three phones, all with unlimited talk, text, and web, it would come out to $210.00 per month.

The iPhone 5c for your daughter would be free (16gb) with a two-year contract, or if she wants the 32gb one, it would be $99.99 (one time payment) with a two-year contract. It looks like you can't buy an iPhone 4S anymore, unless you want a refurbished one. A refurbished iPhone 4S would be free (16gb) or $29.99 (32gb) with a two-year contract. I would recommend getting the iPhone 5C because the iPhone 4S is more than two years old and is becoming more obsolete.

That's a lot of information!

  • Would It Cost More To put an extra line on an AT&T unlimited family plan? Well we have been with AT&T for a while, and we still have the unlimited data, unlimited text and unlimited call. So I was wondering if it would cost a lot more to add one an extra line. The plan only has 2 GoPhones and 2 SmartPhones on it. So could one of the GoPhones be replaces my an iPhone? ( GoPhones are $10 a month )
  • Will tmobile let me add a different phone to our line? Sadly, I just finished paying my iPhone 5s and it got water damage. I don't have insurance anymore. I doubt they ll be able to do anything with my damaged phone =l so I was wondering if I can buy an used iPhone from the same carrier and just replace it? Will everything be the same again?
  • If I add a new line with Verizon, would i have to pay full price? I'm getting an Apple iPhone 5, if i add a new line with Verizon, would i have to pay full price or the $99.99?
  • I opened a new line with my already existing contract with sprint? So a couple of days ago I went into sprint to open a new line for someone in my family with my already existing contract. We bought the iphone 5s. I'm aware that if you want to upgrade you phone but you don't have an upgrade, you have to pay full price. But no phone was updated. We simply opened a new line. Now I know I should have only been charged 200 or some dollars. Yet I was charged full price for the phone.
