How to block someone from calling/texting me?

I have an iPhone 4S and a boyfriend whose family is obsessive. I'm tired of being harassed by them and everyone that surrounds them. How can I go about blocking them? (This also includes texting too; the whole works). I need some peace in my life.

Call your cell phone provider. They do it

Drag his name or number into the black list.

Either contact your cell phone carrier and request to block a number. Or just install a third party app compatible with your device to block calls. But they would probably ask internet connectivity all the time.

First the bad news: there's no easy way to block a specific number from calling your phone, unless you are prepared to jailbreak your phone. There are many issues with jailbreaking, which we won't go into here. Suffice to say that a jailbroken iPhone is a much more flexible and cusomisable device, but it is more vulnerable to attack. So it's something about which you need to think carefully.
Apple doesn't give the option to block numbers, and third-party apps can't do the job because - unlike with Android phones - Apple doesn't allow third-parties to access the call-making capabilities of your phone. It's actually a good thing, as it means no third party can make money by sending spam from your device. But it means that any app that claims to able to block a specific number is probably not fit for purpose: as witnessed by the one-star ratings such apps garner in the app store
