How to break the habit of using the iPad/iPhone late at night?

I will often be on my iPad or iPhone until at least 11:30 pm, I'm sure that this is one of the reasons why I'm not sleeping very well at the moment. However, for those of you who have never had this problem before, refraining going on it after a certain is easier said than done. It is really hard when you are so attached/addicted to using it. How do I break this habit?

If you do something for around a month at constant rates etc. Then it becomes a habit so I suggest doing something else every night for 30 days or go for a jog before sleeping it will tire you out so you will sleep like a bear, I walk my dog for an hour and when I go to sleep I put on the sound of rain so it helps me to relax.

I used to do this, it's a bad habit. I got rid of whatever was actually keeping my attached to the phone/ ipad. For example, I used to play an online virtual game, so I quit it. I also deactivated my facebook account and deleted any games I thought I was wasting my time on. That helped alot because I felt no incentive to keep using the ipad. I also deleted my Whatsapp for about a month so people would be less able to contact me and therefore I would not feel 'pressured' to constantly reply and be on my phone. Soon i started to go on my phone less and less as people just left me alone and i didn't get distracted.

I don't know about you, but I also used to stay up late at night gaming/ on the ipad because I knew i wouldn't fall asleep.that's because I had so many personal issues on my mind and was stressed because of college exams etc… If you can't sleep then and becoming attached to your ipad then there's something that's keeping you addicted to it, so you need to sort whatever the problems are that are keeping you from going to sleep. You need good rest and to sleep at a reasonable time to try and start breaking this habit and feel better about yourself

you could also give the ipad to another family member so you don't give in to using it.

Firstly, try and remind yourself of how tired you'll be when you wake up in the morning, secondly it maybe that you just like to do things with your hand, so try and read a book around 10:00 for 20 minutes, try and force yourself to sleep and also try to devide the time you use your IPad during the day so it won't be so important to use it at night. This is the only techniques that I know might work, it helped me and I hope it helps you.

P.S to be frank no one gets sufficient amount of sleep at night, so you shouldn't worry too much and good luck
