How to factory reset an iphone 4 using itunes?
why is it so complicated. Is it that hard to put a friggin factory reset button?! Wtf is wrong with apple.

Well there's nothing wrong with us, we did install a factory reset button but it's not as easy as you may think a lot of phones don't even have one and have to be done manually, simply press the lock button and hold it to turn it off, then once it's off press the lock button and hold it for a few seconds, until the ape logo is shown for about 2-4 seconds, continue to hold it and press the home button and keep both the lock and home button held until the screen turns off or a connect to iTunes sign appears now you may restore it with a computer however there's an easier way, simply go to settings, go to general, scroll to the bottom and you will see reset, once tapped you may reset anything you want, if you want your phone to be completely reset then reset all settings, this may vary from phone to phone and software ideally it will reset just about everything and I believe it keeps the photos and notes ( it did for me ) but everything else was completely reset, even had to go trough the new iPhone process hope this helped

Open itunes connect the device.click on file.select device. This will give you the choice to back up or restore. Make a back up first. Then once completed choose to restore as new device from same place. Resetting all content from phone is not the same as restoring as new device in itunes.
