How to fix my iPhone 4 (partial water damage)?
Okay so I brought my iPhone 4 into the bathroom with me because my friend was texting me, and I accidentally dropped it into a bucket of water which had soapy toilet cleaning solution in it. Thankfully, only the bottom cm (where the speakers and plug in is) was submerged in soapy water goo. I cleaned off all the goo from most of the outside and used a tooth pick and a Q- tip to clean the soapy goo out of the speakers and outlet. When I turned it on, it operated as usual, except for a few things…
1. After i typed in the passcode, the usual "click noise" didn't happen.
2. When i went on the youtube app and the music app no sound was made.
3. No sound was on any games or apps except for voice memos.
4. No noise was made while typing (no usual clicking)
but the ringer still worked but not for texts. I turned it off and put it in a bag of rice but i'm not sure what else to do.
PUT IT IN A BAG OF RICE IMMEDIATELY
Try trading it in for new ones
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
- Iphone submerged in water, logic board has water damage? My phone was under water for 10 sec. Atleast and in my wet pocket for about 2 minutes. Led wouldnt turn off and power / lock button didn't work… Put it in rice and two days later i charge it apple logo pops up then writing pops up above the apple logo. Will the guy taking my phone to clean it out and try to fix it need my passcode? And will my contacts, apps, photos, music, internet history still be on my phone? Like when he fixes it turns and on and stuff?
- I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
- I accidentally looked at a partial solar eclipse with the naked eye. Will this damage my eye permanently? It was the iPhone reflection when I was check my face for pimples. I dropped it and it showed me the solar eclipse. I heard that even a glance can damage my eye, but I don't know about reflections.
