How to fix my lock button on my iphone after being dropped in toilet?
Today at school I dropped my phone in the toilet. I took I really quickly and wiped it with a paper towel. I seemed like it was fine. A couple hours later when I got home my lock button on my phone stopped working and I coudnt look my phone. I've put I in rice for 5 hours and it still doesn't work.
Take it to a phone shop and get it properly dismantled, cleaned & dried.
The rice idea is an urban myth.
It actually takes weeks for a phone with the casing on to dry out properly if any amount of water has go in, but permanent damage happens in anything from minutes to hours, depending on how much water there's & where it is.
As long as the battery is connected the damage will continue to get worse.

- Will my iphone 4 dry out after i dropped in the toilet? I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet and i immediately grabbed it out. It was on for an hour, now it won't come on? Will it dry out i've had the phone for two years and it is the first time i've dropped it in the water? Will it come back on? I'm due for an upgrade soon, but i really like this phone.
- Iphone won't turn on after being dropped from a short height? I dropped my iphone today on a hard floor. It was working perfectly before I dropped it, however now, when I try to charge it and hold down the home and the sleep button, it still won't work. Any suggestions on what to do?
- Iphone lock button broken, is there any alternative to lock iphone? My iphone 3G lock button is totally damaged and is out of warranty and I can't afford to get it repaired. I was wondering is there any app which can convert "silent" button to lock button. Or may be an app on which i can manually lock the device. By the way my Iphone is jailbroken, and "accessibility" is not accessible.
- IPhone 4s camera light stuck on after being dropped in a puddle? Ok so me and my friend were at the park and I accidentally droped my phone (iPhone 4s) in a muddy puddle. We took it to bits and completely dried it (not an easy task I might add!). The only problem now is my camera doesn't work and the light is stuck on. I'm going to try doing a hard reset via iTunes tomorrow but I've read that doesn't actually help. Any suggestions?
