How to get a camera capable of shooting in 1080p? How do I get an iPhone for cheap?

I'm super-broke, but I want to start film-making. Films shot on an iphone 4 and 5 have won awards at film festivals.

Problem is, the phone is $600, $400 with a plan

I'm due for a new phone, but how do I get one for cheaper? Even buying used is no help, it's still really *** expensive

My parents are on Verizon

Well they have used iphones at gamestp, and they are only 125 dollars

True, but they didn't win *because* they were made with iPhones. If you can't afford something with 1080p (and trust me, you don't *need* it) then get the best you can afford and be creative. Film making is a creative art so treat it as one - it's not a case of the best spec sheet wins!

  • Shooting Panoramas with Monopod? I know very little about shooting panoramas. In fact, I've only shot panoramas on my iPhone. Here's my question: I'm going to Israel this year and want to shoot some panoramas. I have a Canon rebel t1i. I can't afford to bring a tripod, because I need something compact and inexpensive that can fit in my side bag. I find that Velbon's ultrastick L50 fits this description. But now the question remains, can a monopod (with a rotating head) take decent panoramas?
