How to get a job as a teenager?

I'm 17 and I've nearly finished all my College coursework for the year and will have a lot of free time until September. I really want a job to fill out the time I have and obviously to have my own money for clothes, to sign up for the gym and to pay for my own iPhone bill instead of living off my mum like a mummys boy. I've worked with my Grandads company last summer at a building site which payed well but I would feel a lot more independent if I looked for my own job. The thing is I have no idea where or how to start. I live by a big shopping centre so I'm sure there are some jobs available but I don't really know how to approach.

Please leave some advice!

Write a CV. Include where you've worked before, references, work experience, personal info, etc etc and your certificate s from college. You can email CVs to companies via the internet, or you can hand CVs into shops/places. Even if people and companies are not currently looking for new employees, hand in your CV anyway so your first in the que for when next time comes around when there looking for new people to work for them etc.

I think that working with your "grand dad's" company is better than searching for another job, because these day, having your own job is really hard, because you must have an experience, a graduation certificate, and your age must be 20 and up. Unfortunately, even having these specifies, it's also hard to find a respectful job, if you luckily find a job, it won't have a good salary or you may not be respected. I command you to stay at your "grand dad's" company because you are respected there and well payed, and that makes you appear rich on other people point of view. So you are lucky.
