How to jailbreak an old version of iPhone 3Gs with iOS 6.1.3?

I've never jailbroken before, and I'm trying to use redsn0w. But whenever I try to jailbreak it (I follow all the directions) it says "waiting for reboot", but the phone won't reboot. It's supposed to. I'm also using 6.0 firmware, but that isn't supposed to affect the jailbreaking process.Am I doing something wrong, or is there another way to jailbreak with iOS 6.1.3?
