How to make a good photoshoot of a product (a milkshake) on a budget?
Okay so here's the thing. My friend is selling milkshakes, and he wants to do a photoshoot of his products in the style of Apple (white background and white reflective bottom), but from what I understand the photographer who shoots the Apple products uses a very intricate and elaborate setup of lights to achieve this style. Now, he's just starting out his business, and I'm currently on a tight budget as well, so I was wondering if anyone knows the best and cheapest way to achieve this look, or at least a very similar look to this.
We have considered using solid white acrylic tiles as the base to place the milkshakes, using a combination of a small LED light that we've managed to acquire, and iPhone flashlights as the lighting, and possibly use Photoshop to create a reflection of the milkshake, but if there are any better ways we can use to achieve this look, we're open to hear suggestions.
Unless you have what Apple are using then it would be difficult, you don't know how Apple set up their lights for the picture to come out that way or if your all was done on a computer. You should just try to make it as similar as passible
The least expensive lights you can use for now until you can invest around $1,000 or more for some good studio lights are the $40 work-lights sold at places like Home Depot or Loews. They come in both incandescent and LED type lights. Pick one type and then use them to light your product.
NOTE: You will also need a sturdy tripod and remote shutter release because when shooting products using continuous lighting, the exposures are going to be quite long, far too long to hand hold your camera. And you will need light stands so you can control the lights when you set up the shots.
- What's the difference from an OEM product and an original product? I need a new charger for my iPhone and I don't know if I should go buy an OEM charger from eBay or go buy an actual apple charger from Walmart that's going to be way more expensive. Since OEM is basically the same thing without retail packaging, would there be a difference in quality?
- What's a good heart rate variability product? I started using the Elite HRV app for iPhone and the chest strap heart rate monitor that is made by Polar. What's your experience with HRV biofeedback and do you have any insight you can offer me about products that work especially well and tips on training?
- Need a good name for my product? My product is a external storage device for the iPhone It eliminates the use for a computer, so you can just transfer photos straight from your iPhone to a hard drive. Any good … Show more
- Milkshake messed up my iphone 5 speaker? I spilled a milkshake everywhere this morning and it got on my phone… My speakers are kinda muffled and low and I've even tried using a toothbrush for the past hour trying to get the stuff out. How do I fix it? I don't know if rice would help because the incident was this morning and it's probably all dried up.
