I have a 2005 Buick century. I have a car adapter thing but all it does is charge my phone.

If the car stereo doesn't have an aux input, get an fm transmitter or a cassette adapter.
You need an auxiliary input adater for Buick radios, in your Century it will work if you don't have XM radio or you will have to unplug the xm this device will give you clear perfect digital audio, this is not an FM adapter

- JVC car receiver won't play iphone music through usb? I bought a jvc detachable face receiver for my truck and it will not play any of my music. It shows the track, the album artwork and the duration but it WLL NOT make a sound. Is there something i need to change on the settings?
