How to remove the phising scam Rasberry Ultra drops?

My dad recently got attacked by the new Rasberry Ultra Drops scam. All of his contacts in his e-mails received the link. I received the link but quickly dismissed the e-mail because I knew that was a scam. My dad doesn't have a Face Book so thats great. But I wonder, how could we stop the phising virus from sending fake messages? I told my dad to change his gmail password but he said that won't work. He only uses his macbook air and ipad and his Iphone to send e-mails. Any help?

Clean his computer and the phone, it's infected. Just because it's a Mac means NADA. The days of virus free Mac's are over, that ship has sailed. The same Rogue group that attacks windows are behind the attack on Mac's @ Rogue: Win32/Winwebsec

Well, you fooled "Wide Glide" into thinking this is a virus. {{Hey, Wide Glide! If you click on the links, you can read further that this warning is not about any virus at all.http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx?Name=Rogue:MacOS_X/FakeMacdef It is about an old Trojan from about 18 months ago that some people were fooled into installing and paying with their credit card for nothing. That Trojan is totally blocked now by updates in OS 10.6 that carry over into the current OS, and never could infect the OS X files in the first place, so please lay off the alarmist scare tactics.}} Here are some terms that can educate both of you…

-- virus = an app that attached itself to another app (usually a system-critical app) and self-replicates
-- malware = any software that is designed to cause a problem, such as virus, Trojan horse, worm, or rootkit.since most people don't know the difference, they call any of it "virus".
-- phishing = email that "fishes" for your response with identity, such as account numbers or passwords.
-- scam = swindle; to mpresent an offer that is either not fully true or is totally fake with the expectation that you will pay money for this snake oil.http://www.ehow.com/about_6634828_definition-snake-oil.html
-- spam = email advertisements, usually from a company you have never contacted.
-- spoof = using a different "Sender" than yourself (read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/...l_spoofing )

Your dad is right. He is on a spam list and will never be off. He got a spam email. That is just advertising, but it could also be phishing if it asks for your financial details or your computer login password that can be used to hack in and get your financial details.

The email addresses of your dad's contacts came from a group email with all his contacts in the "TO" field. Explain to him that he should always use "BCC" instead of "TO" if he wants to stay off spam lists. That isn't too difficult, but this part is EXTREMELY difficult: Convince cousin Bertha to use BCC for group emails, and stop putting his email address in the "TO" field for her group emails about jokes, funny baby videos, proud of our soldiers, and political support. Spam can come from any popular product or consumer interest category, such as Viagra, weight loss (the Raspberry thing), home mortgage offers, online dating, etc.

I'm fairly sure there was no "attack" unless you replied to the email with passwords or account numbers, and then the attack comes later.

If you are still frightened, get any of the malware scanner apps linked below, and scan the system.

  • When will the iPhone 5s and 5c have price drops? I'm looking to get a contracted iPhone, and I would really prefer the iPhone 5s, but the $199 price is a bit high. When do you think they will have price drops? Do you think it would be worth it now to get the iPhone 5c 16gb? I'm in no rush to get the iPhone, but I don't want to wait till Christmas or any time around there.
  • What should i do? My iPhone 6s plus drops on the floor? Today my iPhone 6s plus drops on the floor. Luckily it was inside a flip case of iPhone, my screen is safe but the upper part of the body got some scratches how to remove that? • My IPhone drops service randomly? I backed up my iPhone 4S and it went back to settings and contacts from a year ago. Anyways I had to of course delete and re-add apps and contacts but now my cell service (I have sprint) will randomly drop for no reason. (Note: I just backed up my phone about 10 mins ago) should I be worried or will it fix itself?
  • My iPhone battery drops rapidly? My iPhone 4 battery drops so fast, even when I'm not on the phone it will drop, I haven't got blue tooth on what should I do?
