How to restore photos from my iPhone that I deleted a long time ago?

I deleted a few photos from my iPhone 4S about a year when i was on iOS 6 (i'm now on iOS 7) and I have backed up my iPhone since. The photos aren't in the trash on my macbook air and they're not in iPhoto or anything like that. It's been along time since they've been on my iPhone. Is there any way at all in which i can recover these photos?
Added (1). Would the photos be in iCloud by any chance?
You need to check your phone under Settings > iCloud > iCloud Backup and Storage. Is it on? If it is, when's the last date you've backed up to iCloud? If that's ok then you will have to erase the phone and then restore from iCloud backup to get them. But since they aren't on your Mac, I'm afraid they might be gone. Best luck.
I'm afraid not. Your deleted photos should be overwritten by new data added to your iPhone 4S.

- How long does it take an iPhone to recharge after it had been dead a long time? My cousin just gave me her old iPhone 5. It's in good condition but it's been sitting in her drawer for months. I don't know how many months but a pretty long while. Anyways, i out it on the charger and it hasn't moved from the red. It's been on maybe… At least a half hour. Is it okay? I don't know anything about these machines lol.
