How to set up iphone 5 Wi-Fi and 3G?

I got the iphone 5 and want to set it to use Wi-Fi whenever possible and only use 3G when Wi-Fi is not available

How do i do that?

Also what do all the options under 'cellular' mean and what's best to do with them?

You can only use WI-FI if you are near a strong internet connection hotspot

Go to the settings and click on the Wi-Fi option, just scroll that to the off button. It usually justs go to your 3G once the Wi-Fi is off

If you go to: settings, Wi-Fi -you can join your Wi-Fi network. If you are not connected to Wi-Fi, it will automatically use 3G.

For cellular settings, it is best to keep them as they are.

  • What does set up as new iphone and restore from backup mean? I have an ipod touch and I have many pictures, apps, and music on it. And now I have an iphone. I plugged my iphone in, and "Set up as new iphone or restore from the back up of" popped up. What happens if I set up as new iphone? What happens if I restore from back up? What do you suggest? I don't want to delete anything from my Ipod or my Iphone. I don't want apps, music, texts, or photos to be deleted. What should I do?
