How to stop text messages from coming

I have an iphone (verizon carrier), but I do not have texting. But I can imessage. But somtimes my friends who i'm imessaging with suddenly send me a text. How do I stop this from happening so that I won't have to may fees?

I think you can block the person other than that you can't

Contact Verizon, ask to block text messages.

Settings > General > Passcode Lock > Show SMS Preview
OR
You can create your own list of email addresses you'd like to either whitelist (Allow list) or blacklist. This can be extended to block any messages from a particular domain using the format domain.com.
OR
Email delivery control: You can select 'Block all text messages sent to you as email' and/or 'Block all multimedia messages sent to you as email'.
