How to switch the numbers of an iPhone 5 on AT&T?

My phone got destroyed and lost. There's no hope of getting it back. So my mother got me a replacement iPhone 5 for Xmas, but somehow activated it on HER number, not mine. So I basically have a copy of her phone. What should I do?

Not sure how available they are in OZ, but an AT&T store can fix that if you bring it in; you may need your mother and her account info also for authorization.

  • Would I be able to switch carriers without having to switch phones? I'm with Consumer Cellular and I have an iPhone SE, but I'm thinking of switching carriers so that I can get unlimited data. I don't want to get a new phone because I've had my current one about six months, I really like it, and it works great. I'm not locked into a contract with Consumer Cellular. Would I be able to switch to another carrier without having to purchase a new phone?

  • Using MyVerizon to block numbers on iPhone 4S? On the MyVerizon site there's a feature that allows me to block up to 5 numbers at a time for 90 days and I used it to block a number on my iPhone 4s, but am still getting messages from this person! Does this feature only block calls and not texts? Or is it something to do with my particular phone? Please help, this person is driving me insane and I need to shut them out before I go crazy!
