How to unlock iphone 5 from at&t during contract?

See… If i have an iphone5 from at&t and i want to use an international sim card in it how do i do so without paying the etf… Is there any way i can do it at home on my own without paying for the etf

Added (1). I'm living in the us now… But i'm shifting to india but i don't want to pay an ETF… So can i just jailbreak it in india… Or should i do it online in my house itself… Please reply as soon as possible moving there next week

Your only charged the ETF fee if you leave ATT services… If you plan on staying with ATT, then you get no ETF fee… If you leave ATT… $325 ETF fee

to unlock it… 1) jailbreak it… 2) get unlock app via cydia

If you're leaving AT&T service, you've to pay the Early Termination Fee. You can factory unlock your iPhone 5 and use International SIM in it. You can mail this person (arghyle@rocketmail.com) who can help you get your iPhone factory unlocked.

There's a unlock for the iphone 5 at the moment, but no jailbreak. Correction to the person above me.AT&T charges you $320 early termination fee minus $10 for each month of full service commitment. So if you had the phone for 3 months you would minus 30$ off of 320 and that is what you would have to pay. The reason for having to terminate is that at&t only gives unlock codes for phones off contract. If you are within 2-3 months of your contract end date, which i highly doubt you are since you have an iphone 5, then they will budge and give you the unlock code. There are websites out there that will unlock your phone, and they do actually work.

The jailbreak is universal, but like i said, there's not going to be a jailbreak for a while. IOS 6. X.X (what the iphone 5 runs off of) has not been jailbroken yet since it came out in august. This has been one of the most challenging iOS versions to crack.

Yeah, just go to https://www.stockunlocks.com and pay $4.99 for an official factory unlock via iTunes. This service is especially for the AT&T iPhone, whether you are under contract or not. Your iPhone will be forever unlocked to use worldwide or here in the US, with any GSM carrier. No early termination fees whatsoever and it's registered in Apple's database as officially factory unlocked.

You can get a factory unlock at any place like iphoneunlockedcheap.com They will factory unlock your iPhone in contract to use other sim cards, but this means you are still obligated to pay your existing contract with ATT. It will allow you to use multiple sim cards with worldwide carriers though.

  • Will buying an iphone in contract and unlocking cause contract immediate fee? If i buy a iphone for example on att contract and unlock it, will att charge me what's left on the contract or will i just go by like nothing happened and free of contract? I haven't seen this but it makes quite a bit of sense for companies… Not sure if they do however.
  • Which is better iphone 5s plan, contract or no contract? I want to get an iphone 5s but i don't know if it's better to get a contract plan or a no contract plan. I would be having to pay every month with a contract and that's annoying. Yet with a contract i wouldn't have to pay that much for the phone would i? If i got the non contract i would get to pay the bill when i want but i would have to pay full price for the phone.
  • Should I get iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S? No contract or with contract? I don't know what exactly is so much better with the 5 compared to 4S? I'm thinking to get it with no contract because I'll be in Europe over the summer so I'll need another contract over there for a few months so that likely wouldnt work if I got a 2 year contract here in the US is the 5 much more expensive than the 4s? and does the price vary a lot if I buy with/without contract?
  • Is the iPhone 5s better with a contract or no contract? Which is cheaper? I was thinking about getting an iPhone 5s and I was just wondering if no contract or contract was cheaper. I saw that T- mobile offered a no contract deal, yes I know you have to pay it all up front. I just want to know which would be cheaper in the long run.
