HTC One or iPhone 5, Which is better?

All of my friends love the iPhone bandwagon and makes me a little creeped out. But i love the HTC One because of the design and amazing sound. The iPhone has a unique design with an easy menu. I'm not sure which one is better

I HAVE BOTH! I actually prefer my HTC.

I like android. Android seems like its more sturdy then iphone. I dropped my htc a million times and I don't have one crack or scratch. I dropped my iphone once and the screen shattered._. I've been through four iphones and only one android. Also its easy to download music on android

GET HTC ONE.

The HTC One by far. It has the best build quality, more features, more customization, and is a nicer looking phone in my opinion.

After playing with each for the past couple weeks, I'm way more impressed with the HTC One over the iPhone 5.

Like you said, the iPhone 5 is very easy to use. This is one of the iPhone's greatest benefits. It's simple and it works. It's also a very reliable phone. I had little to no problems with it and it did everything quickly and with little pause. The battery life is also exceptional for a smartphone. On the flip side, the iPhone is very limited in terms of customization and the lack of home screen makes the phone feel very bland and uninspired. You can't make your phone special with widgets, and your home screen is nothing more than a menu of apps.

And then there's the HTC One. The battery life is fair, I was able to milk about 18 hours out of it with consistent usage. While playing games though, the battery life was reduced to somewhere between 13-15 hours. Charge it at night when you're asleep and you should be OK. As hinted above, the home screen is a lot of fun to customize, and it's the best way to "mark your territory." This is one of many things that makes Android phones special, is the personal home screen. Also on the HTC One is the front facing speaker; it's amazing for a smartphone. The HTC One is also incredibly fast and stable. The exterior design is slick and industrial and feels very sturdy. My only concern with the HTC One (and it's a minor concern) is the camera quality. I take a decent amount of pictures with friends and such, so it was something that I prioritized. HTC changed their camera setup (in ways I won't discuss on here) and they did so in an intuitive way, but with some sacrifices. The HTC can take amazing pictures in low light situations, better than any phone out there. But it suffers is regular lit situations. These aren't bad pictures by any means, but in a well lit area, an iPhone could take better snapshots than this phone. But this is such a small nitpick in a phone that is otherwise all around superb.

In conclusion, you can't go wrong with buying either of these phones. No matter which one you choose, you WILL enjoy it. But I'm confident that you will enjoy the HTC One more. It takes some time to get used to the Android setup, but once you get there, you'll be hooked.
