I don't pay for songs either and I've got a few songs on my iphone, since I have 3G I just use youtube for music. But you can download music from a free website and import them to iTunes and then to your phone. Or you can get a web browser app that can download (free) and get music and movies that way. You should use the website mp3skull.com and the app mercury.
If really you want to download songs without paying anything like any single penny than don't go for iPhone. Go for any android mobile which will surely help you to download your favorite music.

- I have music on my iphone that redownloads everytime even though I don't want it anymore? So I have some music that I purchased on my phone and I have since wanted them off my phone, I have tried deleting them off but every time I plug my phone into the computer they all redownload. I've gone to settings and everything and they are not checked off as songs that will download they aren't in any playlist I have and I have no clue how to make them stop downloading every time I plug my phone in.
