I dropped my iphone 4 in water and it still works perfectly fine?
Today I was dipping my feet in a lake and my phone dropped out of my hand but it was turned off prior to falling as i wanted to reserve my battery power. My friend quickly picked it up and literally sucked out all the water from the battery outlet with her mouth and turned it back on (I wish she didn't) and then my uncle rushed over and quickly turned it back off and started swinging it so all the water came out of the headphone jack and battery outlet. I left it turned off for about 6 hours and turned it back on. It was working fine. I then came home and charged it a bit and googled what i should do. I heard i should put it in a bag of rice so i turned it off again and its now resting in rice just to make sure all the moisture is out. I also just took it out of the rice and opened the back to check on the battery and it was completely dry. Why do you think my iphone works? And will it last or would it probably die very soon? I plan on leaving it in the rice for 3 days to be completely sure.
I dropped my iPhone 4 in my friends lawn and she didn't find it for 5 days (all while raining) and I put it in rice for a few days and its was fine the screen had a marble wash to it but after a few days it went away and I'm using it right now to type this out so it should be completely fine. Hope I helped.
It will last, as long as you know all the compenents are dry. Even if it dies later, its probably just the battery that needs replacing. Water will cause the main chip to malfunction, as the water may cause a circuit failiure in the phone because of the electric current properties. However, if possible get a hair dryer and set onto low or medium and brush the phone with the air, with the back cover off, do it for 10-15 seconds and let it rest for 60 seconds and repeat, make sure you have not put the hair dryer on high.
My answer is this… Your post looked so long I only read about 3 sentences, if that. So go out to pick up stix, say your sorry to any Chinese person there for daring to drop a dirty phone into a bag of their countries national food. And please bow down like a China man to everyone you know for the next 3 weeks and tell them that you've shamed an entire country, and ask each person to take you home with them, where you will cook them hot dogs and pizza… And watch Bruce lee movies while you perform manicures and pedicures for their pets. Youshould feel ashamed at even thinking about putting a phone in rice. Now go think about what you've done, and learn how to cook dogs and cats… Then tell Margaret cho jokes at the beach. You must be very, very naive… I'm appalled at you… Its sad.
If you have the warranty, then take it into apple so they can prevent any potential water damage.
- Why are my SMS messages taking years to send? But iMessages are perfectly fine? So IIm texting my friend with iMessage ( we both have iPhones ) and I just started texting someone who doesn't have an iPhone and when I try to send them a message it ll take so long and it ll even say message failed it bugs like what the heck sprint.

I dropped it in a bath for like almost 2 seconds and I turned it off, I put it in rice and waited like 10 hrs or so… It turned back on and works just fine.except my ear kind of hurts when I turn my phone on( which never happens when I turn my phone on) what does this mean

- My iPhone 3G, works perfectly fine, but the light is dim as hell? OK, so I dropped my iPhone inside the toilet. When I got it out and dried it with a napkin it was fine, the touch was good, the light was good, everything was fine. I turned it off, and about two hours later the light went dim. It's like almost black. I don't know what to do? Let me remind you that it's old, and it's kinda loose, and it has a few cracks here and there.
