I dropped my iPhone 5 in the toilet! What do I do
So i dropped my phone in the toilet. It was in there for like 3 seconds and when I took it out and dried it off the Home button wasn't working, but then out of nowhere it started to work again so I thought my whole phone was back to normal. However, I shortly afterwards got a call and I couldn't hear them until I put it on speaker. Also, I tried watching a YouTube video and when it wasn't making a sound, I tried turning up my volume and it said my headphones were plugged in (which they weren't)! Right now, my phone is in a tub of rice because of other things I've read. Does anyone have any more advice?
You can't really do this with an iphone but when that happens take out the battery immeaditley and dump the phone + battery into rice right away and leave it there for a while. If that doesn't help then you might be able to get it repaired. If not then there should be some sort of warranty or something with apple or your carrier. If not then i guess you will just have to buy a new one lol, not sure what else to tell you sorry dude
Air it out with fan you have but not next to a heat source because that will just screw it up

One of the other answers said that there should be a warranty from Apple of the carrier. That is correct and wrong at the same time lol. See, there's limited hardware warranty that comes with all Apple devices. The "limited" warranty last for a year after the purchase date of the device, however you are given options to expand that. Your phone is no longer under warranty because dropping it in water is what we call "Accidental Damage" meaning that it was your fault, and we do not cover damage caused by the customer.
For future reference, when you get a new device you should consider purchasing AC+. That extends your warranty and complimentary phone support period to 2 years instead of one. It costs $99 but the good thing about it is that if you drop the phone and break it or drop it in water we will replace it for $49. You could get it replaced twice if it has accidental damage.
