I dropped my iphone 5s in water. What should I do?
I just got it last month. It was there in water for 4-5 seconds. I switched it off immediately n dried it with a cloth. I could not put in rice or silica gel or blow dry it for 3 hours. Now I hv put it in rice. I want to know if i should remove my battery.
what can apple store do about it if i tell them honestly what happened?
I purchased my phone from Kuwait but right nowwm in India.

Added (1). Well i dn knw to open the battery myself n I dnt want to take a risk giving it to some random mobile shop here. Thats why I want to go to just Apple store. What shoul I tell them I dn knw.
Remove the battery and place it in a container filled with rice. Wait about 3 days and it should be fine.
You haven't told us if your phone works or not?
The apple people will know - when they open up your phone that it was dropped in water so you may as well be straight with them.
3 hours is nothing, let it sit 3 days with it off. If it doesn't work after that then take it to an apple store.

- I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). It seems like the phone is still working because it still makes noise when I touch the buttons and my alarm still went off this morning but the screen is completely black. It is in rice now but is that still the best solution if everything is working except my screen? And I know I'm supposed to turn it off but I can't because the screen won't work.
