I get a mailer-daemon message?

I get a mailer-daemon message informing me that my e mail wasn't sent, its some kind of marketing text about iphone, of course I did not write it. It only happens when I get emails from some institutions, as if it is an automatic response to it, it does not happen with my friends, or any personal e mails. What should I do?

Things to do if your ID continues to send out spam

Someone at one time or another has got ahold of your email and has spammed your phone with numerous text messages. This is why many messages are going to your phone. If you see alot of these being inputted into your phone, it is wise to just delete them.

So sorry to hear about this! Typically, the type of activity you described occurs when an account's log-in credentials are compromised via a phishing site or by keylogging malware installed on a PC. Once an ID/password is captured, bots can then access the account remotely to send the spam messages. Malware programs typically are designed so that no copies of the sent messages are saved. The failure notices or mailer-daemon notices you may have seen occur because some of the email addresses in your Contacts may no longer be valid.

Once you've changed the password it is unlikely this issue will continue to occur. Nonetheless, scanning your computer(s) with an updated anti-virus program is always recommended. You may want to search specifically for programs designed specifically to eliminate malware as many larger anti-virus programs do not include that feature.

Hope this helps!

  • Will my message be delivered if sent as text message on iphone? My friend said that she was having phone problems earlier today. My message was being sent as an imessage, but I guess she wasn't receiving everyone of them, just getting the notifications that they were sent to her but she couldn't read them. I then responded to her, but it was sent as a text message this time and i have gotten no response. I'm not as much concerned about her responding or not, I just want to know if she will receive the message.
  • Why won't my 5c send a message as MMS when it's a long message to a non iPhone user? Whenever I type a LONG message to an SMS user (says Text Message in the messaging "box") my 5c won't convert to MMS and the recipient gets the message in dozens of out of order messages instead of the whole fluid message. I have MMS on in Settings. What can I do and why is it doing this?
  • Why is my iphone making the message tone but no message? My iphone, for the first ever time made the message tone and I have no message? There's no app on my phone that makes the same sound either I have checked, apart from tweet on settings, but I don't even have twitter… I received a message 20 Minuits before this happened but I read it and replied… I have a lot of storage on my phone so it can't be that either… So what is it?
