Is your volume on vibrate?
Make sure your volume is not on vibrate. If that does not work check to see the volume level settings>sounds and check that is is on and change with buttons is off. If that does not work take it to apple.
There's a switch on the left side of the phone. If you have an otterbox, you need to lift a flap there. Then, if the switch is on orange, flip it until it's the color of your phone. That should fix it.
