I plug my iPhone 5 into my HP laptop and it won't show up on iTunes?
I've plugged my iPhone into my laptop a bunch of times, it has always worked, but I just plugged it in and it won't automatically open iTunes. When I open iTunes myself, it doesn't show my iPhone. It is charging and my computer notices it's plugged in. I restarted my phone and computer and iTunes and my phone are updated.
This last update of iTunes has been giving a lot of people a hard time - including me. Apple's own help site was NOT helpful - but User Groups I found were. You must uninstall iTunes, Bonjour, and all other related Apple and iTunes programs - do not worry, your music will not disappear, unless YOU manually delete it. Then install an OLDER version - I used 11.1.3.8. Then everything ran FINE - and I got an update notice - so I updated, knowing I could always back out of it and do this again - but it worked fine. Then of course, it has to recognize your phone - easy, you did it the first time OK, right? So now you are good to go.
