Let the battery die out and then charge it again. The apple sign will appear while it's charging but then it should alert you that it's charging then you can restore it. If that doesn't work, take it to the genius bar at Apple.

Press and hold Home & Power button for 10 seconds.
release power button but stillkeep pressing home button.

Check that you have the latest iTunes installed on the computer.
