If I import my photos from my iPhone to my MacBook Pro will they stay on my MacBook Pro after I delete them in my iPhone?
I have almost 8,000 photos/videos on my iPhone 6s Plus. I got the new iPhone, so I'm giving the 6s Plus to my mom to use. I don't have the time right now to store all my photos in the cloud so I need to save them some other way. If I plug my iPhone into my MacBook Pro and import the photos from the iPhone to the MacBook Pro gen delete the photos from the iPhone (before resetting it) will the photos stay on the MacBook Pro or will they delete from the MacBook Pro when I delete them from the iphone? If this won't work is there another way can I save the photos?
Create a new folder in your Mac's desktop. Plug in your iPhone. Copy your pics and vids to that folder. Eject and unplug your iPhone. That's it. Now you can delete them from your iPhone. Make sure you don't have any "sync" settings anywhere.
If the pics and vids are important, I suggest you copy the folder to an external drive.
Yeah. The iCloud is the only thing that may be affected.

- Why can't I import the photos from my IPhone 5 to my Macbook Pro? So I have a little over 1000 picture on my IPhone 5 and i want to get them to go onto my Macbook Pro laptop. I know this probably sounds stupid, but I just can't seem to figure it out! I've researched a lot of stuff and even went onto the apple website! I asked a few of my friends who have PC laptops and they said that a little pop-up came out in the corner of their screen asking to sync their photos. Well of course my doesn't have a pop-up.
