IMessage won't work on iPhone 4S?
A little while ago my dad gave me his old iPhone 4S, and I use it as an iTouch, so no SIM. But, I wanted to try to use iMessage and I can't seem to get it to work. I have reset my network settings, logged in with my apple ID, turned the phone on and off, but it still won't work. I've tried sending texts to both my email and my actual phone, but the message won't send. It just says 'No SIM card installed'. And it also still shows my dad's phone number (it shows it in grey numbers, so I can't tap on it). I have the phone up to date on iOS, if that matters. I've tried looking this up several times and nothing works for me. What should I do to get it to work?
IOS 7.0.3 fixed that bug. If you are on 7.0.3 or later, try restoring it. If you are on iOS 7.0.2 or lower, try upgrading the device to the latest version.
If none of these solutions work, try taking it to the Apple Store and explain your situation to them.

The recipient and I are both within Wi-Fi connectivity. The send button even turns blue. When I try and send MSG it says not delivered. Whenever I text to someone, the iphone won't notify me if someone texted, even though i went to setting and turned on everything. The notification works for snapchat and a couple of other apps… Here is what i did setting>notification center>Messages> alert style: Banner> everything else is switched on…> Show alerts from everyone

- Why won't iMessage work on my jailbroken iPhone 4? I just got my stepmom's old iPhone 4. My dad had jailbroken it on iOS 5.1.1 using Redsn0w. Now whenever I try to activate/sign into iMessage or FaceTime, after about 15-20 seconds, and error pops up saying,"Activation Failed/Unsuccessful". My uncle has the same problem on his iPhone 4(jailbroken on iOS 5.0.1).Is there a way to fix this? I don't like always using my iPod Touch to iMessage.
