Intrusion of solitude (invasion of privacy) lawsuit?
About a month ago, I agreed to let my ex-boyfriend (whom I civilly kept in touch with) work on my broken iPhone 5 since he does it for a living. He told me he'd give it back once fixed and I could return my replacement for the money back. Every time id ask about it, he would say he still hasn't received the part he needed in the mail.
Fast forward to today. I received a call from mutual friends informing me that he not only fixed it weeks ago, but that he talked about how he has been going through all 4,000 of my personal pictures, hacking into my social media (facebook, instagram, snapchat) and also lied saying my phone contained pictures of them and included some made up story making me out to be the devil, which caused our mutual friends to call off their wedding.
- I feel extremely humiliated, violated and furious; his job was to fix my phone and return it, not invade my privacy and hack into my social media accounts
- His lies ruined our friends' relationship and plans to get married in just 2 months
I feel as if his actions impacted and hurt a lot of people and am curious, would I be wasting my time pressing charges for this or could it be taken seriously in court?
The way he invaded my privacy and tormented me and others prior to doing so has affected us and we want something done about this.
You may have a case for harassment, but nothing stronger than that. You voluntarily gave him the phone and the permission to access it.
He didn't hack into your social media accounts. He knows you well enough to figure out your passwords. Everything was done from your phone and therefore everything looks like you did it. Why didn't you backup and delete pics and change passwords? Never trust anyone with your devices.
- Privacy settings on tumblr app? I just updated my tumblr app, and I was trying to post a picture from my iPhones gallery when it says it like doesn't have access to it and that you can get it by going to the privacy setting but how do I get there exactly?
- My parent won't give me privacy? They touch my iphone without my permission, enter my room without my permission. When i go to school they read my text message and my facebook. They keep track and Monitoring my what i say, what i post on my facebook. They don't allow me to pot passcode to lock my iphone ( this make them easier to read my stuff!)
- Is a white privacy screen protector for white IPhone 5 worth it? Okay! I'm getting the IPhone 5 in white and I was interested in getting a white privacy screen protector for it. But one thing I'm worried about is, getting make up on it and then have it look all nasty. Would that be the case?
- I have an IPhone and no privacy? While its my IPhone, it's all under my dads account. Does that mean he can see EVERYTHING I'm doing, such as pages I go to on Safari, being on my YouTube account, texts that are on my apps, my actual texts, pictures, google docs… EVERYTHING. If he can, how do I switch it to my account without ANYTHING getting deleted? Any help on this is appreciated.
