IPhone 3GS earphones problem?

Hi, my port for earphones won't work, I plug in my earphones and it keeps playing music on my speaker instead of changing it to earphones, I cleaned the port and when I try those earphones on my 2 laptops, they work, is there any way to enable it, and how much would a repair cost if it is possible?

For what it would cost, you're better off getting a newer version. There have been 3 upgrades since your 3Gs. The iPhone 5 just came out, so you could get that, or if you're trying to save $$$, you could probably find a good iPhone 4 for under $100. Try mobilekarma.com

  • My iPhone makes one of my earphones to stop working? Whenever I plug my earphones into my iPhone 3GS it works for about a day, but then will suddenly kill the left ear, you can't hear it if you plug it into any other MP3 player. There's a small crack next to the jack which I think could be the reason why. Is there any way to fix this.
