Iphone 4 lock button stuck, screen black, won't turn on?

I have an iphone 4 and I have only had it about 3 or 4 months. Yesterday (Saturday) the top lock/power button became stuck. I've read online that it is pretty common for this to happen and I was planning to take it by the Verizon store or a little tech.store on Monday. I was just using the round home button to turn it on.
Today (Sunday) my screen is completely black and the home button won't turn it on. The home button is not stuck, just not doing anything!
I can't do the "hold lock and home button" reset because the top button is stuck!
THe phone had a full charge and has not been dropped recently, it has been in an OtterBox since I bought it. I have Verizon.

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions to fix this problem?
Should i contact apple support or Verizon?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Added (1). Also, my husband and mother in law both have the same iphone and received it at the same time as me, did i just get a crappy iphone maybe?

Added (2). I tried plugging my phone into the charger, nothing happened.
and i tried plugging it into my computer, nothing happened, screen just stayed black i guess itunes did not recognize?

I guess apple because they are ones who made it if you got your 1 year gurantee (or whatever its called i'm not english) then bring it to fix

If you have a:
•Mac/pc
•Apple usb cord
•iTunes
Plug in the iphone into the usb and that into your mac/pc and see if you can do something on iTunes to fix the problem.
