IPhone 4 text message problems?
I recently got the iPhone 4 from virgin mobile for Christmas. I know virgin uses sprint towers as does boost mobile (my previous phone carrier). I never had a problem with boost, but now with my iPhone I sometimes receive blank text messages (even though my friends are actually sending words) or "?!=?!=e?!" Even though that's not what they're texting. Also my iMessage doesn't work either even though I'm connected to Wi-Fi. Sometimes when I text people the don't receive it until hours or days later and when they text me I sometimes don't receive it until hours or days or at all.
It's really annoying and kinda makes me wish I would have just stayed with my android phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My phone is up to date as well.
If you changed your carrier and your friends have a different carrier you might have some difficulty. When I had my 4 the same thing happened if I had bad reception. Also, are your friends sending emoticons? If so they may not appear on your phone if they do not have an iPhone. Talk to your new carrier.
Getting my I phone 4 has been a huge disappointment. Mine also has these issues. Message gets to about 95 percent delivered and sits for minutes all the way up to hrs before being sent. These problems happen to iPhone's on the same acct with full bars on signal. Enjoyed android much more.
When attempting to send text to 1 particular # I get message send failure. I can call this person, and they say their blocking is off. I can text them from my work phone no issues. I checked all my settings and nothing has changed from when I used to send them text. I have reset my phone, and deleted and reinstalled this contact several times.
- Will my message be delivered if sent as text message on iphone? My friend said that she was having phone problems earlier today. My message was being sent as an imessage, but I guess she wasn't receiving everyone of them, just getting the notifications that they were sent to her but she couldn't read them. I then responded to her, but it was sent as a text message this time and i have gotten no response. I'm not as much concerned about her responding or not, I just want to know if she will receive the message.
- Why is my iphone making the message tone but no message? My iphone, for the first ever time made the message tone and I have no message? There's no app on my phone that makes the same sound either I have checked, apart from tweet on settings, but I don't even have twitter… I received a message 20 Minuits before this happened but I read it and replied… I have a lot of storage on my phone so it can't be that either… So what is it?
- Why could i have gotten a text message with no text box? Yesterday morning, I looked at my smart phone ( android) and I got a text from someone. I clicked on the contact's text and there was no message, no blank bubble, nothing. It just looked like one of us was getting ready to start a conversation but no message was sent. (Extra info: I may be wrong but I think this certain contact has an iphone.) What could cause this? I don't want to ask the person because it would be extremely awkward.
- When I text other iPhones why is it sending as a text message? I have an iPhone 4 I was on AT&T and I just switched to straight talk. In my setting I have all the iMessage and everything turned on. Sometimes it will work whenever I text another iPhone but most of the time it won't. I have tried turning the phone off and back on. It's really irritating. If someone could help me that would be great.
