IPhone 4S sound won't work for music or messages?

So I never dropped my phone nor do I usually play straight from the phone always my headphones but in use the ringer for messages and stuff but my sound won't change? I never dropped it in water or anything it was just working then I got a call and after thy it stopped working? If I restart my phone it works for 2 seconds then stop again. When I change the sound in settings it plays from the speaker but when I leave settings it stops working again.

Check in your settings as I suspect there's turned off setting. If that does not work reset your phone.

I have an iphone 4s which is fully up to date, all of my sound is fine when my earphones are plugged in however when i have no earphones in i can't play music or hear any sound when on apps and games etc, but my sound works for facetime and when i'm on the phone to someone even on loudspeaker, it sometimes goes quiet though, i have tried everything i can think of to fix it and nothing will work, please help

I used to share an iTunes account with my sister, and the sound would work on anything on my phone. Now, I made my own iTunes account and the sound for YouTube and iTunes will not work. The volume switch on the side is not set to orange. Any answers would be appreciated!

  • Sound won't work on iPhone? How do I fix it? I can't turn the sound up or down. I tried assistive touch but that doesn't work. I also tried turning my phone on and off and that didn't work either. It started to work for about and hour and now it's back to how it was. My alarm works fine though and sounds for text messages and phone calls so it's not the speaker. When I try to listen to music the sound bar is gone and when I try to listen to vine it just won't work? What can it be and how can I fix it?
