IPhone 5 hardware issue

I have an iPhone 5 that is about 2 years old. The sleep button has been broken for ages, so I've been using the Assistive Touch. The screen has been broken twice, and replaced only the first time. With its current crack, it was working fine but then all of a sudden failed earlier today. I assumed it was the screen, but based on my research and the fact that my Assistive Touch still works perfectly fine, I assume it is a hardware issue. I'll be receiving a new iPhone 6 very soon, so it's not worth my time to back up my phone, restore it, etc but I still need it to function for the next few days. No; I can't turn it off whatsoever. Yes; I can get the "swipe to power off" slider at the top, but since my screen isn't responding, there's no point. Any help is appreciated.

Yes it is probably a hard wear issue. If you want use it for few days then you may have to change the screen. Other ways at least give for service.

  • What is does the 90 day iPhone hardware policy include? I accidentally dropped my iPhone and it shattered and the whole front of it's came off and the bit to charge it is bent. My phone isn't that old and I don't have insurance. Will apples warranty cover the damage of this since the phones only 3 months old?
