IPhone 5 Problem - SIM not valid?

IPhone 5 Problem - SIM not valid?

Added (1). I bought an IPhone and it fell several times. The screen broke so I went to the ICentre and asked them to repair the screen. They told me that they can do that or they could change my IPhone for a new one but I needed a transfer of data. I asked them to do it because I'm not a huge expert in Apple devices.
I got a totally new phone a few days later but I had all the data that was on my old phone. Now that I put my SIM card back to its place, it says 'SIM Not Valid'. What should I do now?

You've been supplied with an iPhone locked to a different network to yours. Go back to the supplier and demand one which is either unlocked or locked to the network you use.

  • Would my iPhone warranty be valid? I have an iPhone 4 that stopped working. If there were no signs of water damage, would Apple have to replace it even if it's no longer under contract with AT&T (I have a 4S now.)?
  • What does sim not valid mean on iPhone 5? What does this mean? Because the phone carrier on my phone is EE and they recently sent me a new SIM card for my iPhone 5 and they have to activate it and they said I have to wait for it to be activated so does this mean that it isn't activated or does it mean something else?
  • SIM Not Valid for iphone 4s? I bought an unlocked iphone 4s off of ebay (software is up to date). I bought a straight talk sim card, put the sim card in, and went through the activation process- but it still gives me the message "SIM Not Valid - please insert a compatible sim card" the description of the phone on ebay specified that the phone s unlocked and compatible with any GSM carrier PS i found a verizon sim card when i opened the phone…
  • SIM not valid for Iphone 3 My iphone broke so my brother gave me a used one that was on the Rogers network that his friend didn't use anymore, I'm under contract with Telus, I put my SIM card in the phone and brought it back to factory settings and then it says SIM not valid. What can I do to fix this so I can use the phone?
