IPhone 5 stuck on 1% battery after screen replacement?

I have replaced the screen on my iPhone 5, and when plugged in to charge it was stuck on 1%. I then turned the phone off while still plugged in & then back on. It then said 36% and the percentage still doesn't move until i turn it off and back on again

Your battery display is not working. Have you tried plugging it out and using it for a while to see if the display changes again? If not, try to restart your iPhone. Also, try calibrating it.

To calibrate, drain your battery completely. Make sure the battery has died, then leave if for a few hours. Afterwards, plug the phone back in and check the battery indicator as soon as the screen turns on. It should read 2%. (Or sometimes higher, no more than 5%) Leave the phone in there until the phone is fully charged. When the phone reaches 100%, continue to leave it in there for 30min-1h. This is to enusre that the actual battery is fully charged. A full battery indicator, does not mean a full battery itself. Afterwards, the battery should be fine. If not, seek help from an Apple Staff.
