Iphone 5s won't sync certain music?

I have music I converted from youtube to my laptop. It plays and works fine. Their boxes are checked for sync.

but when I sync, only music I have purchased from the iTunes store will go onto my brand new iphone 5s. This is very irritating. How can I make sure the converted songs sync, not just the purchased? Songs from cds, that I own, won't even download to my phone.

Plug your iphone in. Go to your library. Crate a playlist. Add all the songs you want. Go to the sync music settings and select sync playlists and checkbox the playlist. If that doesn't work, hold power button and home button for 10 seconds until it flashes the apple logo and turns on. Then plug in and sync again

ITunes can only sync your own songs to iPhone. For the non-purchased songs, you can use some third party software like this iTunes alternative, it can upload any songs and videos to iPhone as long as they are compatible with iPhone 5s. Hope it helps you.

I don't understand why iPod and iPhone users continue to rely on syncing to put music on their devices.

never sync any of my Apple devices to put music on it. Instead my iTunes is set for manual management of music and video. I almost never have problems putting music on my iPod and obviously much fewer than those complained of in questions like yours which are posted here in the thousands - including loss of music to put songs on my iPod.

Manual management is just clearly superior in every way and it works on iPods, iPhones and iPads both new and old. I've tried it on first generation nanos, iPod 4, iPad 3 and iPhone 5

You enable manual management by bringing up sidebar in iTunes (ctrl S if you don't have it up already) and clicking on the iPod tab. The main window should show you the main summary for your iPod. The box for the manual management option is at the bottom of the page (it's probably already checked).

That's basically it. Now you can just drag the songs from whatever folder they're in in WIndows and drop onto the iPod tab on iTunes sidebar.

Every time you update iTunes, you need to reboot your computer.

  • Why won't Facebook let me move certain photos to certain albums? I want to move certain photos to certain albums and when I click on "edit album" then i hit this arrow button on the picture and when i hit "move to another album" it gave me an option of 2-3 albums to put the picture into. What should I do? The picture i have in the album was from my iPhone that i currently don't have anymore and that's the last picture of it! Please help me! I don't wanna erase the album or any other!
  • Songs in itunes won't sync to ipod but will sync to iphone? So i have over a 1000 songs in my itunes library and they will all sync to my iphone no problem. But when i try to sync to my ipad (which has enough memory available) it will not.
  • My iTunes won't sync certain albums? I have the latest version of iOS 7 on my phone, and I have the latest version of iTunes itself. Some of my new albums that I've downloaded (not from the iTunes store) are not syncing to my phone. This is the first issue that I've had with syncing music that I've downloaded elsewhere. Does anyone know what's happening? I've also restarted both my iPhone and computer.
  • My iphone won't let me play certain music? It comes up in grey in the list and has a sort of stop square inside a circle next to it why can't i play it?
