IPhone 6 Camera Quality - FPS?

If one were to use the iPhone 6 to record video, would they achieve better video quality by using the 240 FPS slow motion mode, even if not using for slow motion?

What does FPS do?

FPS means frames per second. The number of video frames per second. At high frame rates like 240fps that means when you play back at a standard 24 or 25 fps you get slow motion video.

There's no way to use 240fps video for anything other than slow motion, unless you drop most of the video frames, and the result will be exactly the same as if you had simply shot at a standard frame rate.

The video quality is not determined by the FPS. Video quality rests upon the quality of the optics (the lens) and the size of the sensor. The sensor in a phone (iphone or any smartphone) is tiny. Like a point and shoot camera. They aren't very good, and they suck in low light. Plus there's also the problem that a smartphone has no opitcal zoom. So in essence, you are stuck at one focal length, unless you use digital zoom which will severely degrade the image quality.

There's also another problem you may not have considered. Regular video files are massive. If you shoot at high frame rates, the video files will be even more massive (100 times more massive!). You will soon use up all the free memory in the phone.

240 fps on the iPhone is ONLY for slow motion playback.
