IPhone disconnects from the Wi-Fi when locked?
For some time now, when I lock my iPhone for a reasonable amount of time it loses its Wi-Fi, then when unlocked or even just the screen is activated it reconnects after a few seconds (without any user input).
It's been happening for a while now and I mostly deal with it, but it's getting annoying because I don't get messages from Facebook or other internet related things.
Long story short: I wanna know why it happens and how I can fix it (if I can fix it). Is it a glitch? A feature with the latest iOS update? Any answers are appreciated.
I think the iPhone is suppose to do that. I think it is a battery saving feature. I think if there's any activity or traffic going across Wi-Fi while it is locked it will stay connected. So, if you're downloading an app and your phone locks I think the Wi-Fi will stay connected until the download is complete. Your facebook messages and any other notifications doesn't require hardly any bandwidth so usually those come in across cellular data.
- Wi-Fi Disconnects on Iphone 4? I'm using my iphone 4 as basically an iPod, because it no longer has service. I have Wi-Fi which i use for texting, etc. Sometimes the internet just randomly stops, but the Wi-Fi signal still shows at the top of my phone. I have to continuously go into my settings app and turn off Wi-Fi and turn it back on. I have tried resetting my network settings. Nothing.
- Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
- Iphone 5c constantly disconnects from the internet? My daughters Iphone 5c constantly disconnects from the internet, it doesn't matter if its my home Wi-Fi, other Wi-Fi's or my phones internet. It had been working fine from december but the last 4 or so week's it disconnects every 2-3 mins. It has all the latest updates & I just need some help if there's a solution for this as the phone is only 4months old & i'm not happy about paying for a phone that doesn't work.
