IPhone has reverted to sending as "text message" in a group message with all iPhone users?

I'm currently part of a group message with some friends from back home, and we all have iPhones. In the messages, any messages I sent out were blue. However, I updated my phone to the iOS 8 the other day and in the same group message, any messages that I sent out became green and "Text Message" would appear above my messages and "iMessage" above everyone else's messages. I'm in another group messages with roommates where we all have iPhones and yet after the update, my messages are still sent as blue. I've looked at all of my settings, turned iMessage on and off multiple times, but still nothing has changed. I'm not sure if it's my phone that is causing the problem or someone else's, but mine is the only one that says "text message" when a message is sent. I'd hate to reset any of my settings in fear of anything deleting. Is there anything else that I can do?

Are all other IPhone users updated to iOS 8? If not this could be the cause

  • Why isn't my iPhone sending text message? So my iPhone won't send TEXT messages. IMessage works. Other people can send me text messages but whenever I try to send a message, it says "message failed to send" or something like that. I have lycamobile carrier and nothing like this has ever happened. I have restarted my phone and all of that. I changed nothing in settings.
  • When I text other iPhones why is it sending as a text message? I have an iPhone 4 I was on AT&T and I just switched to straight talk. In my setting I have all the iMessage and everything turned on. Sometimes it will work whenever I text another iPhone but most of the time it won't. I have tried turning the phone off and back on. It's really irritating. If someone could help me that would be great.
  • When Android user sends text to a mixed group of iPhone and Android users? A family member who is an Android user sent a text message to a large group of recipients, including me. The group has both Android users and iPhone users. I'm an iPhone user. Does this mean that I will receive everyone else s messages like an iMessage group, or will all messages go directly between the conversation starter and whoever is messaging him, without any of the other group members seeing what the other members said?
  • My photos are not sending in group messages, but are sending in individual messages? I'm with Straight Talk Wireless. At first my pictures were sending in the group message but now they are not. I don't know what's wrong, all my settings are what they are suppose to be, and I'm currently on an iPhone 5s IOS 8.4.
