IPhone locked to 3 network

I want to buy an iPhone and someone is selling an iPhone 5 but it's locked to the 3 network. I already have a rolling contract on Virgin Media at a good price though. Will I be able to put my current micro sim into this new phone? Is it possible to unlock it?

It will be locked. However you can find some sites that unlock it for free, or if they charge its like £15. Try unlock-iphone (.info)

Just take it into a store where they can unlock it for you. Then you should be able to use/have any network on it.

  • Wi-Fi on iPhone keeps saying unable to join network (my network name)? How can I fix this! It's been like this for a week but it works on my laptop fine. I tried unplugging it for a few seconds, I tried resetting network settings, I tried turning my phone off then on again, and I know I'm typing it right. I even typed it in upper case AND lower case. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
  • When I sell my iphone is it still locked to a network? Basically I have an iphone 4s and want to sell it it so I can upgrade but I want to keep the same phone number. I'm with 3 network at the mo so do I just say that's the network I'm with or will I have to get it 'unlocked' to sell it on? also how do I wipe all my personal stuff off it like iTunes etc?
