IPhone on the tracfone network?
Just a simple prepaid service. I was wondering if i could jailbreak and unlock an iPhone and put my tracfone SIM card in it and have it work as a normal phone. Is this possible? It doesn't matter what iphone it is. Ill do it on a iPhone 3G if i have to. Can someone help me? Is this possible?

Each tracfone sim card is linked to the phone it was activated in, and some part of the account information is stored on the phone itself.So, if you put the sim card into another phone, the phone will not be able connect to the cell towers because some part of your account information is missing.
No, unfortunately the TracFone service is tied to the TracFone phones themselves. However, should you want to use your unlocked iPhone with a prepaid network you might want to check out Straight Talk or Net10.
Straight Talk offers micro-SIM cards (vs.regular SIM cards) that you can specifically use with the unlocked iPhone through their Bring Your Own Phone (BYOP) program. The exception to this is the iPhone 5, which operates using a nano-SIM. In that instance you would have to manually cut the micro SIM.
