IPhone says where caller is calling from?
I receive calls from people and it says where there calling from. For example I received a call and below the number it said Rotherham, England. This is first time this has happened and I was just wondering why. Is it something in my location settings or is it something on their end? If I can see their location can they see mine?
Been an iOS feature for a while now. Simply through things like area code & if you are calling another iPhone (with the number not already in that person's contacts) then yes they can.
Probably an upgrade in software that recognizes the area codes of callers
It doesn't actually say where they are at the moment but rather obtain the location of their area code and suggest that they might be calling from that city. And yes, if you call someone with and iPhone or a phone with that function, it will tell them the city of your area code. It mostly happens if the contact isn't added and it's from another area than yours.
- What's the difference between an 'unkown' caller and 'no caller ID'? This unknown number keeps ringing me, and i thought if someone blocked their numbers (on iphones) it comes up as no caller ID so i'm not sure if it is still a blocked number or a number that can't come trhough. But when i answer nobody speaks and they've rang one of my friends so its not a scam phone call also they don't speak at all so if it was a company of some sort they must of spoken so its probably a prank call but i wanna know the difference to make sure.
- Unknown caller keeps calling? Me and my friend were prank calling In N Out and McDonalds but we didn't talk, we just made random funny noises and hung up. A couple minutes later I get a call titled "Unknown." I didn't answer. Yet all night that person tried calling me. Any advice? Am I in trouble? I'm using an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.
- My iphone says i'm connected to Wi-Fi but when i try to run something it says i'm not connected? My phone shows signal, it has a check mark by the device but when i try to open an app it says can't find a connection.
- Is there a caller block app for iPhone? So this guy keeps calling me and texting me and I wanna block him but when I looked online it says my phone has to be jail broken to do it but is there any other way because I'm just getting annoyed because I told the guy I'm not interested and he want leave me alone.
